Saturday saw the sun shine down on the Strokes course as 8 intrepid players took to the greens for 4 rounds of tournament play to celebrate Dave Forrest's birthday and to battle it out for the KMGC Megabowl! After 4 hard fought rounds under the blazing sun (and one unfortunate tooth related injury during the lunch break) we had a victor to take home the trophy to end all trophies - the KMGC MEGABOWL!!!

Congratulations to Andy Exall for picking up his first career victory with 4 superb rounds (a par equalling 144) - the Megabowl will look great on the mantle piece - along with a new PB for him at the course. The day also saw some great scores from Jennifer and Scott, both picking up new PB's as well with some consistently strong rounds.

 

And the prizes didn't end there - Andy picked up a top quality mug, Sean got his hands on a mouse mat and Scott took home a new pen - all marvellously decorated with a picture of Dave posing on the course!

Where else (other than the KMGC) can you get these kind of unique prizes in the wide world of sports?! And all topped off with some delicious cake (top work all round from Sue & Jen!!).

 

Not only did all players have a great time (and a great bit of practice for the British Open in 2 weeks time) but thanks to the hard work put in by Dave, Jen & Sue, we also managed to raise £22 for the National Autistic Society in the process - great stuff indeed!!

Rest assured the MEGABOWL will return in 2009 and we will no doubt be guaranteed another top class event from the pages of the KMGC Competition Handbook...
